Booking Terms & Conditions

Our two suites and studio:
Jardin Studio - double bed for a maximum of 2 people only.
Hirondelle Suite - double bed for a maximum of 2 people only.
Mirabelle Suite - double bed for a maximum of 2 people only.

'Maison Rouge' in these Booking Terms and Conditions is also referred to as the ‘Bed and Breakfast’.

​

Arrival time: Your arrival time is between 16:30 and 21:00.
A quick message of your estimated arrival time is always appreciated.

​

Departure time: please depart your room by 10:30 am.

​

Breakfast time: served from 08:00 until 09.00.

Breakfast is continental breakfast at €7 per person. The menu is available on the homepage.

​

Evening meal - Table d'hôte: served at 19:00.

At €7 per person. A two course set menu, main dish and dessert, including a glass of wine or beer or soft drink.

Contact us for the days' menu.

To ensure your reservation, book before 14:00 on the day.

Food allergies & intolerances: Please inform us before you book, to check if we can accommodate you. This may not be possible or an extra cost may be incurred.

​

Car Parking: We offer free car parking space but do NOT accept responsibility for damage to, or for theft from, or for theft of vehicle parked on our property during your stay.

​

Housekeeping: Guests staying more than one night will have their room will be freshened up daily up in the morning. If you wish your towels to be changed, please let us know. 

 

Prices: Room rates are based on one or two people occupying a suite and may vary seasonally.
Please refer to the ‘Reservations’ page on this website for prices.
Evening meal, table d'hôte and continental breakfast are available at an extra cost. 
The local tourist tax (tax de sèjour) at €0.80 per person per night is included with your booking.

Children and babies are not catered for: Please understand our aged property and grounds are not suitable for babies or children. We have no facilities or equipment for them. Your visit will be void if you book. Supervised children of 12 years and above, accompanied by an adult, are welcome.

Smoking and vaping are not accepted: Respect our home. We are a strictly no smoking or vaping property. A charge will be incurred if loss of business due to extra cleaning time, or damage, will be incurred. The smell lingers and the room will not be available for the next guests until it is gone, hence a charge.

Booking and payment: You can book with us on the Reservation pages on this website, just select the ‘check availability’ button, this will take you to the secure ‘freetobook’ site.

If booking the same day in person, payment is by cash on your arrival.

All reservations (‘Bookings’) are personal and may not be sold, assigned or otherwise transferred.

Cancellations:
To cancel you will need to contact us.

  • Cancel up to 7 days before your arrival day and you will have a refund of 100% of the total cost of your booking fee.

  • Cancel up to 3 days before your arrival day and you will have a refund of 50% of the total cost of your booking fee.

  • Cancel within 24 hours of your arrival day, there will be no refund of your booking fee.

Cancellations also include an administration fee of €5.

Booking amendments: To amend a booking please go back to the online booking site you made your booking with. If you have booked direct with us, please call if you have an queries.

​

Disabled guests: Unfortunately, we do not have any ground floor rooms due to the age and nature of the property. As needs do vary, guests with specific requirements are encouraged to check prior to making a reservation.

Our bathrooms are not modified for disabled guests.

Please note all rooms are accessed by the original staircases and may not be suitable for less agile guests.

Dogs and pets are not accommodated: Dogs and pets are not accommodated anywhere on our property, this includes our parking area and our private track road leading up to the house. This is due to allergies and protecting local wildlife, as much as we love them all.

​

VAT: We are not VAT registered therefore rates do not include VAT.

​

Insurance: Guests are recommended to have their own insurance to cover cancellation, curtailment and loss of baggage, personal effects and money.

​

Respect: Please respect our home. Use our accommodation with respect for its décor, age and the love and time that went into renovating it.

​

Comments and complaints: We do appreciate feedback from our guests to help us improve on the enjoyment of your stay. Please remember we are a small bed & breakfast, not a hotel chain.

​

Statutory Requirements: The Bed & Breakfast is subject to statutory controls, including those relating to fire, licensing, entertainment, health, hygiene and safety. These must be strictly observed by guests and their representatives.

​

Liability: The Bed & Breakfast’s liability to the guest is limited to the price of the booking. The Bed & Breakfast does not accept responsibility for damage to the guests’ possessions or for theft from the room(s) where the guests are residing. Unless the Bed & Breakfast is liable under the above clause, the guest indemnifies the Bed & Breakfast from and against any and all liability and any claims, proceedings or damages resulting or arising from the Booking, the guest or any outside contractors of the client. The Bed & Breakfast will not be liable for failure to perform to the extent that the failure is cause by any factor beyond its reasonable control. Do have a travel insurance policy that provides full personal liability cover.

Damage: Guests are responsible for any damage caused to the allocated rooms, furnishings, utensils and equipment in them by any act or omission, default or neglect of the guests or their representatives and will pay to the Bed & Breakfast on demand the amount required to make good or remedy any such damage and the costs of such recovery. Responsibility will be of the person making the booking.

Law: Any issues arising out of these booking conditions shall be deemed to have existence in France and be subject to French law and the exclusive jurisdiction of French courts.

​

Security and privacy / General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR): This website is managed by the owners of Maison Rouge. We promise to ensure the safety and security of your personal data as per GDPR. Kate Cridland is the person responsible for the collection and processing of any personal data you provide in connection with your reservation at Maison Rouge, Chambre d’hôte.

The personal information we collect from you when you contact us through our website, email telephone or social media is: your contact telephone number, your contact email address, your reservation details which may include your dietary requirements.

We may use third-party sources, (e.g. freetobook.com) for your reservation, however only the information detailed above is used by us. Any remaining data is under the control of and protected by these parties’ individual privacy policies, for which we are not liable. 

We are required to keep a Formulaire d’Inscription which you fill in and sign on your arrival. We keep this for no longer than the legal requirement.

We promise to:
- ensure the safety and security of your personal information.
- never to sell or share any of your details with a third party, other than a regulatory authority, the security forces or when to do so by the courts.
- never to keep any personal data longer than necessary.
- only use the information you provide us with lawfully and in accordance with the 2016 General Data Protection Regulation, (GDPR).

You have the right at any point to contact us and request what personal information we hold about you, why we hold it and who has access to it.
